英文摘要 |
Sodium (Na) is not essential for plant growth. High cytosolic Na^+ concentrations can damage plants. The ability of plant cells to maintain low cytosolic Na^+ concentrations is an essential process associated with the ability of plants to grow under salt stress conditions. There is evidence showing that Na+ transporters play an important role in reducing Na^+ toxicity by excluding Na+ from the cytosol or preventing Na^+ transport to the leaves. In this review, we discuss the roles of Na^+ transporters in salt stress of rice plants. Evidence is provided to show that Na^+ transporters play regulatory roles in the tolerance of rice plants to salt stress. |
