本文運用Rodgers（2000）的進化式循環方法（evolutionary cycle method）針對「老年緩和照護」進行概念分析。透過EBSCOhost、Medline、CINAHL、PubMed、Social Servicesand Sociology、PsycInfo, CEPS以及CETD資料庫搜尋，最後篩選出共14篇文章進行分析。結果呈現「老年緩和照護」的定義性特徵包括：1.跨領域講求學科間合作且適用眾多不同的場所；2.注重病患自主權，融合人性與個別化的整合式照護；3.基於患者疾病和症狀需求，不受存活期限制；4.為一支持系統，視病患和家屬為一個照護單位，包括面對疾病持續至哀傷輔導；5.合併式治療以保護病人緩解症狀與促進舒適為導向；6.與病人、家屬及團隊人員間開放且有效的溝通；7.是一個動態且活躍的照護過程。此老年緩和概念分析的結果將可做為未來長期機構的住民接受老年緩和照護模式相關研究的參考。

Rodgers' evolutionary cycle method was used to do this concept of geropalliative care. After searching the EBSCOhost, Medline, CINAHL, PubMed, Social Services and Sociology, PsycInfo, Philosopher's Index, CEPS and CETD database, finally, fourteen studies were reviewed. Attributes of geropalliative care include: 1.interdisciplinary team approach and across all settings; 2.respect for the patients' right and combined with humanized and individualized care; 3.based on patients' needs without the disease process limitation; 4.a support system, both patients and family are the units of care, including facing the disease continually to the bereavement process; 5.an integrated treatment to relieve patients' symptoms and promote their comforts; 6.open and effective communication with patients, families and the team members; 7.an active and dynamic ongoing caregiving process. Results from this concept analysis of geropalliative care would be used as a reference for future studies on caring for older adults with palliative care in long-term facilities.
