由胡塞爾的觀點來看地理學的「生活世界」概念

生活世界是胡塞爾後期現象學的重要概念之一，採納現象學的理念從事研究的地理學者，自是特重生活世界的概念。對胡塞爾來說，生活世界理論的提出，是爲了更加全面地研究科學的基礎，並堅持哲學做爲普遍的和嚴格的科學的理論；他認爲返回生活世界是實現先驗還原的一條途徑。經由地理文獻的探究，可發現大部分有關生活世界概念的論著，大抵上僅了解到生活世界概念的表面意義，即「生活世界」與「客觀－科學世界」之間的問題上。人本主義地理學者的論著，均將生活世界當作有助於對抗實證論地理學，以重新探究人文現象中之意義與價值的一個概念；甚至有些地理學者試圖直接運用它於地理現象的研究。這些主張都忽略生活世界概念在胡塞爾整體現象學中的義蘊。或許可指出的是：地理學者對生活世界的闡釋，不是完全基於胡塞爾的現象學視域，而是由地理學的觀點加以了解的。
