This research is based on the classics of Confucianism and the works of Chien Hsu-Shan, and aimed to discuss the doctrine of the moral cultivation of ”sincere intention” and ”attainment of understanding”. It takes philosophy as a research approach to the exploration of the practices in forms of lives, sites and how to put them into practice. The paper is divided into five sections. Section one is introduction, which bring out the research topics and illustrate the idea, outline, method and goal of thesis step by step. Section two, it discusses the key concepts of this research-sincere intention, attainment of understanding and doctrine of the moral cultivation, and focus on the key concepts to clarify the research topic. Section three, through the issues from the practices in forms of lives, sites and how to put them into practice, this research encompasses ”sincere intention” and ”attainment of understanding” to the three links of the road to the sanctification, also tries to connect, enumerate and explain the works from the classics. Section four, uses the discourses from Chien Hsu-Shan to characterize the inheritance and elucidation of ”sincere intention” and ”attainment of understanding”. The last but not the least, this study not only concludes and presents the achievements, but also thinks over the ways of continuing research development in the future.
