元雜劇《西廂記》成書以來廣受文人、批評家的歡迎,不僅刊本數量驚人,元代至近代更是傳唱不絕。南曲興起後,改調歌之的《南西廂》應運而生,晚明又隨著散齣的流行,而自全本中琢磨出十餘齣的折子戲,如〈遊殿〉、〈寄柬〉、〈跳牆著棋〉、〈佳期〉、〈拷紅〉等,屢見於明清戲曲選本、演出史料,甚至是近現代的崑劇舞臺上,可見其盛演不衰。〈草橋驚夢〉一折,在元雜劇中是第四本崔張戀愛線索的大收煞,明末南北《西廂》皆將此折作為散齣演出,成為《西廂記》中的盛演劇目。至清乾嘉時〈草橋驚夢〉的表演內涵逐漸固定為觀眾最喜愛的範式,至道光年間甚至是民國初年,都還保持著乾嘉時的基本樣貌。然而較之上述仍活躍於今日的《西廂記》折子戲,〈草橋驚夢〉的演出益趨精緻卻愈顯頹勢,至現代終於「失傳」於崑劇舞臺上。本文冀能從不同時期的曲譜、身段譜比對中,探究該折戲表演內涵的變化,為折子戲的發展規律與崑劇表演乾嘉傳統提供具體例證;同時耙梳該折戲的演出記載,探察各時期演員、觀眾或曲家對該折戲的定位、喜好與接受程度,從中觀察本折戲從盛演到失傳的發展脈絡。並以當代藝人的訪問為印證,冀能更全面地從內部、外部觀照本折戲演變與失傳的因素。 |

The Romance of the Western Chamber crowns Yuan zaju, and its grand finale "The Dream of the Straw Bridge" had become famous and popular, a scene performed independently since the Ming and Qing Dynasties. However, it has disappeared from modern stage. The first three parts of this article compare various versions of the scene, as appearing in the southern and northern versions of The Romance of the Western Chamber, versions from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and in“Kunqu shenduan pu," "Review on Traditional Opera,"and "Jicheng Qupu"in the end of the Qing Dynasty and modern times. The author analyzes the selected scene, which migrated from beiqu to nanqu, and became an independent piece in the end of the Ming Dynasty. Since then, the scene adopted the performance model in the time of Qianlong and Jiaqing, which has passed down until now. The author purposes to study that, over these three periods, what kind of changes in "The Dream of the Straw Bridge" took place, in regard to its plot, performance, historical development and other aspects, in order to understand how important the time of Qianlong and Jiaqing is to this scene's evolution. The fourth section of this article focuses on performance records and explores past performers'opinions, audience preferences, and reception, to observe the selected scene's decline. Backed by interviews with contemporary artists, this article offers an explanation of this scene's evolution from both internal and external perspectives. |
