The purpose of project is to compare Marxist's AMP with Wittfogel' Oriental Despotism. The author hopes that by the exploration the academic themes will achieve new goals as fellowing: Marxist's AMP is one of the most famous academic conceptions in the west world that explain the no-west world fail to pro up capitalism. The project is going to try to review all classic works on the themes of Marxist's AMP and recently have been published academic works related the studies of Indonesia; According to the update of research data, the author will renew to analysis that Wittfogel had constructed the mode of Oriental Despotism to explain the formation of non-west world. The focus will concentrate on the case of Bali island which Wittfogel had used the idea of hydraulic society to explain the relationship between state and society in the non-west world;It is the author of the primary concern that taking the comparative approach to analysis both theories' foundation and looking for both theories for expiations in the non-west world causing the factors of constrains will be examined.
