英文摘要 |
This lecture discusses relationships between the technological risk and the technological progress. Production often causes by-products which will impair individual utility. Accordingly, we use those by-products as an index of the technological risk, and analyze how the by-product to evolve and to change with the advancement of the product's quality. As a result, we find that the amount of by-products initially increases, but as the product' quality continues to increase the amount begins to decrease. Finally, we discuss the characteristics of the balanced growth and use our model to explain the inverted U-shaped pattern found in empirical research for many pollutants (Environmental Kuznets Curve). |
