Intercultural sensitivity, as the emotional dimension of intercultural competence, takes time to be improved. To cultivate college English teachers' intercultural sensitivity, the first step is to discover the factors that may influence their intercultural sensitivity. In this paper, 100 college English teachers are randomly selected as samples and ISS (Intercultural Sensitivity Scale) developed by Chen & Starosta are implied. By means of multivariate analysis of variance and correlation analysis, we intend to discover whether factors including years spent in English teaching, overseas experiences, and the frequency of interactions with foreigners will affect college English teachers' intercultural sensitivity. The reasons are also analyzed as an implication for the further study on the means of developing college English teachers' intercultural sensitivity. |
