本文的主要目的在於回顧教練－選手關係的相關文獻，探析教練－選手關係理論發展的過程，以指出教練－選手關係未來研究的方向。經文獻回顧與分析後，未來可行的研究方向如下：一、編製中文版本的教練－選手關係量表，以供後續研究應用；且在建構教練－選手關係的概念及內涵時，除了要訪談優秀的運動選手及教練之外，還要以開放性問卷，針對更多的運動選手加以探討，以擴大研究結果的適用性。二、針對Jowett and Poczwardowski (2007)所提出的「教練－選手關係的整合研究模式」進行驗證的工作；三、以教練領導行為作為前置變項或中介變項，探究教練領導行為對教練－選手關係和結果變項的影響。
