在有益身心健康的策略中,運動是最經濟有效的方式,它可不受時間與空間的影響,也沒有制式運動器材或運動方式的牽制,唯要遵循的原則是運動處方。要確保健康促進效果,運動頻率、運動強度、運動時間及運動類型等四項原則的思考是關鍵所在。在四項原則中,運動強度扮演最重要的角色。研究指出身體活動經驗不足時,無法自我監控運動強度,會造成運動成效不彰,容易導致運動中斷及退出比例的增加。是以如何提升運動參與者對運動強度的自覺能力,是值得研究的議題。因此,本文擬以運動強度為主軸,蒐集相關研究文獻,探討運動經驗與運動強度自覺能力的關連性,進而提供未來可能的研究方向。文獻探討發現對運動經驗較不足的人來說,可能對運動強度認知的不足,使得自覺運動強度與實際運動強度落差較大,難以成就預期的運動效果。因此,藉由運動強度自覺量表(RPE)的教育,在運動經驗的累積過程中,提升運動者對運動強度的認知,檢驗運動強度的自覺能力,可能有效降低運動退出,順利養成規律運動習慣。
