Cycling has been developing in Taiwan for many decades since 1950. We found insufficient evidences for exploring the impact of Taiwan bicycle industry on Taiwan cycling development. The aim of this study based on this research gap exploring the impact of Taiwan bicycle industry on Taiwan cycling development. We conducted two in-depth interviews in this study. In the first part of this study, we applied four periods of time, which divided from Taiwanese economic development since 1950 to 2005. They were Assembly (1950-1970), Export-oriented (1970-1980), Industrial upgraded (1980-1990), and Globalization (1990-2005). Result reveals that Taiwan bicycle industry significantly affects Taiwan cycling development. This impact was from elite cycling oriented to leisure cycling oriented during 1950 to 2005. In the second part of this study, domestic cycling coaches and commissaries were selected for the second in-depth interview. They pointed out that 'sport for all', leisure-oriented, and tourism-oriented were three significant points that Taiwan bicycle industry affected Taiwan cycling development. However, local cycling team and cycling organization were less affected by the industry. Some related discussions and comments were provided.
