This bibliometric analysis makes an effort to map the development of previous academic studies on intercultural sensitivity in order to provide an overview of contemporary intercultural sensitivity research utilizing the HistCite (ver. 12.03.17) software developed by Dr. Eugene Garfield. The findings are based on an analysis of 5,814references to 168 articles from 120 journals indexed by the Web of Science (WoS) database, from 1992 through 2016. The most prolific authors, those who are most frequently-cited in title keywords, and the most frequently-cited articles are listed for purposes of examination. Results from a large-scale journal citation dataset available via HistCite provide visualization techniques which feature the three developmental stages of intercultural sensitivity research and the four major themes as determined by research interests, their size, similarity and interconnectedness. Recommendations were provided by the researcher to increase the quality and range of future research studies.
