我們首先介紹美國的領土拓展，包括領土的分類、本土的領土取得、以及海外領土的組成。接著說明美國如何由孤立主義到擴張主義，特別是在美西戰爭初試啼聲。再來檢視美國在太平洋的擴張、在拉丁美洲的介入、以及如何併吞夏威夷。最後，我們以美國的『島嶼判例』做結論。

We start with a review of how American territories have been expanded including the classification of territories, the acquisitions of continental territories, and the composition of overseas territories. We then look into how the United States has move from isolationism to expansionism. We further examine how the United States has expanded in the Pacific, intervened in Latin America, and annexed Hawaii. Finally, we will scrutinize the Insular Cases.
