緒論：近年電子競技運動風潮捲起，因其較缺少運動核心的身體活動，故持續有人爭論電競是否為運動。2022年杭州亞運將發展日漸完善的電競納入正式比賽項目，電子競技發展為運動項目的概念逐漸被大眾認同。方法：本文藉由介紹電子競技運動與現代運動的內涵，總結電子競技運動與現代運動的異同。Allen Guttmann在1978提出現代運動應包含七點特徵：世俗化、平等、科層化、專業化、理性化、量化及紀錄化，本研究延續這些運動化特徵分析電子競技運動。以質性研究的半結構式訪談八位電子競技運動領域的專家有關電子競技運動與現代化運動的異同，經過資料整理，將訪談內容進行分類與分析。結果：透過現代運動的內涵進行分析可以得知部分電子競技運動項目具備現代運動的涵義。而電子競技運動領域專家訪談內容剖析電子競技運動現況，了解電子競技運動與現代運動相同與較具特色之處。結論：經由文獻收集與訪談提出電子競技運動具備現代運動之特點，以及電子競技運動賽會與一般運動賽會發展異同，期望有利未來研究更多參考依據。

Introduction: The core of sports lies in physical activity, such as running on the field or weight training in the gym. In recent years, the trend of electronic sports has surged. Due to its lack of physical activity, it has been a subject of debate regarding its classification as a sports discipline. The development of the electronic sports industry has been increasingly refined, with electronic sports officially included as a competitive event in the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. The current status of electronic sports development has gradually gained recognition as a sports discipline among the public. Methods: This paper introduces the essence of electronic sports and modern sports, summarizing the similarities and differences between electronic sports and modern sports. The definition of modern sports, as proposed by Allen Guttmann in 1978, encompasses seven key features: secularism, equality, bureaucratization, specialization, rationalization, quantification, and record keeping. These seven characteristics are analyzed in the context of electronic sports. Additionally, semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight experts in the field of electronic sports. The interview contents were categorized after data collection and analysis. Results: Through the analysis based on the essence of modern sports, it is found that some electronic sports disciplines embody the essence of modern sports. By dissecting the current situation of electronic sports through the lens of modern sports and incorporating data from interviews with experts in the field of electronic sports, a deeper understanding of the similarities and distinctive features between electronic sports and modern sports can be obtained. Conclusion: This study identifies the characteristics of modern sports in electronic sports and provides evidence of the current development of electronic sports through literature review and data analysis. It is suggested that future research should incorporate more detailed data to present a complete picture of electronic sports, thereby providing more reference points for future studies.
