老人因疾病或意外而經歷行動失能後，往往對其身心健康造成極大影響，然而目前國內尚缺乏針對出院後居家老人行動失能的調適歷程之深入探討。因此，本研究為探討出院後居家老人面對行動失能的調適過程，採質性研究設計，以立意取樣方式，研究對象為台灣中南部兩家醫學中心65歲以上且出院後6個月內有行動失能的居家老人。以半結構的訪談指引及「內容分析法」分析與萃取有意義的主題、類目並進行分析。本研究共訪談十位老人，訪談12次，訪談時間約30分鐘至90分鐘。研究結果萃取出六個主題。主題分別為：（一）舉步維艱的苦惱；（二）負面情緒後淬鍊自我價值；（三）身心社會活動受限；（四）嘗試回復行走功能；（五）尋找替代方式；（六）與行動失能共存。研究結果能提供研擬行動失能老人照顧政策與改善介入方案之參考，對行動失能老人及其家庭提供更周全之照護。

When elderly adult faces disability due to illness or accident, and which has an abundant impact on his physical and mental health. However, there is currently no in-depth discussion on the adjustment process of the mobility disability of the elderly after discharge. This study aimed to explore the adaptation process of mobility disability among community-dwelling elders after discharge. This qualitative study targeted a purposive sample of participants in the south-central region of Taiwan who are over 65 years old and have mobility disability within six months of being discharged. Data were analyzed using content analysis to extract meaningful themes and categories with semi-structured guided interviews. The study interviewed ten elderly adults for a total of 12 times. Each duration of the interviews ranged from 30 to 90 minutes. The results of the study extracted six themes: (1) the distress of lack in muscle strength; (2) self-value refinement after emotional distress; (3) restriction on physical, mental and social activities; (4) attempt to restore functional mobility; (5) finding alternative methods; (6) coexisting with mobility disability. Findings of this study can be references for developing a care policy and conducting improvement intervention program which provides a more comprehensive care for disabled elderly and their families.
