Apart from being widely known as a religious figure, thinker, philosopher, educator, writer, and person of action, Hsing Yun, the most prominent figure in Taiwan's Buddhist world, is also a poet. There are always new values and concepts in each era guiding people in an indiscernible way. Spreading Buddha's teachings for more than 60 years, his traces can be found across the world, including Leiyin Temple in Yilan and Fo Guang Shan, which has millions of worshipers from around the world. His uniqueness is manifested not only by his actions, but also his writings, which have been passed on from generation to generation. His runs a magazine, writes articles and plays, and composes poems and songs. His inspiring literary creations have influenced the secular world and provided enormous spiritual support for different generations. The present thesis focuses on his poems in Poems and Lyrics of the Human World I by examining the social contexts reflected by his poems and how he incorporates his poetic concepts in his style. It is worth noting that this thesis only provides a rough picture of his poems instead of a comprehensive representation of his poems.
