曾貴海在從事醫師工作之餘，同時也積極參與文學、社會運動、政治運動，對於自然環境的關心更是不遺餘力。這也許是曾貴海從事醫師工作的關係，可能讓他更深入瞭解生命的痛苦，因此，他曾書寫了自然景觀、環境污染、犯罪事件、關懷土地等各種現實題材。曾貴海在他的第六本詩集的名稱〈孤鳥的旅程〉，詩人能人以孤鳥自況，願意為著一己的理想做孤注一擲的命運。這首詩代表了曾貴海的寫作生涯，以浪漫的情懷來，不停地尋找而追求理想之境地。從曾貴海的文字，讀到了一個憂國者的躁鬱之心。他對頗多台灣現實的問題，不但觀照並皆有書寫下來。本論文置重點於詩人曾貴海詩歌對現實精神的觀照與書寫，觀察其詩作所反映的時代影響為其闡釋物件。

In addition to working as a doctor, Tseng Kuei-Hai actively participates in literary, social, and political movements. His also spares no effort in caring for nature. This can probably be attributed to Tseng's profession, which has allowed him to obtain a deeper understanding of the pain of life. He has written on all types of realistic topics, including natural scenery, environmental pollution, and crime. With his sixth poetry collection titled The Journey of a Lonely Bird, Tseng portrays himself as a lonely bird; he is willing to go all out to pursue his dreams, whether he fails or succeeds. The poem of the same name represents Tseng's writing career, where he has endlessly searched for the ideal realm with the spirit of a romanticist. Tseng's poems demonstrate the unquiet mind of a patriot who is occupied by concern for his country. He has not only shared his observations of the realistic problems in Taiwan, but also written them down. This present thesis focuses on the observations and representations of realism in Tseng's poems. The thesis also looks into how the social contexts reflected by his poems influence the subjects he expatiates upon.
