民俗技藝的傳承，可以保存先民的文化資產，豐富古今的民族藝術，發揚本土的文化精神，可爲全世界所學習與仰慕，實有傳承與推廣的必要。近年來由於政治的解禁，本土意識的抬頭，爲了薪傳民俗體育，特別鼓勵中小學將其列入學校重點發展活動，使其如虎添翼，蓬勃興盛起來。本研究目的主要在探討新竹縣發展民俗體育之問題：一、現今環境背景之需求。二、政府與民間機構推展的理念與政策。三、新竹縣民俗體育技藝的分布與內容探討。四、未來發展的策略與建議。本研究以文獻分析法爲主，配合田野調查法，輔以學校指導教練與行政人員的口述歷史，將蒐集之相關文獻資料，加以綜合、整理、分析。所得結論如下：一、新竹縣民俗體育在國民中小學階段的開展，使得文化薪傳的香火能夠接續下去。二、政府及新竹縣已制訂積極發展民俗體育之政策，期望在學校的民俗體育教學中，達到傳承發揚民俗體育之目的。三、新竹縣國民小學民俗體育團隊的表演內容方面，由於經費與師資的不足，比較注重個人技巧與隊形的變化。四、民俗體育未來之發展，應多舉辦教學研習，選定爲課程與教材，政府民俗體育政令之實施，師資培育應採多元化；此外，還需廣開源流、運用社會資源，才能落實民俗體育活動的推廣。

The heritance of the folk athletics is a way found to preserve the ancient culture which makes life more abundant and energetic, also the folk athletics show the locality of the traditional spirit of the culture, there could be something real and adorable for the whole world in them, therefore to pass the torch and make them more popular is necessary. In recent years, for some political reasons and the rising of the nativism, the promotion of the folk athletics in schools has become an important part when it comes to the development of the schools themselves, the authorities concerned encourage such movement that had boomed the folk athletics in the country. In this research trying to deal with some problems of the development of the folk athletics in Hsinchu County, first I survey the background of the needs, the second is to analyze the ideas and policies of the process of promotion that exist between the government and grassroots, and then to examine that to what extent the folk athletics had already spread around the Hsinchu County. Finally, I try to give advices and suggestions for the future of the development of the folk athletics. The context of this research is composed of the text analyzing, field working and the oral history interviewed from the instructors and coaches in schools. After all of these, I can jump into conclusions: the promotion of the folk athletics in middle and primary schools had made the traditional culture survived, the government had made the policies to popularize the folk athletics, hoping the torch could be passed in the future. But in order to the shortage of money supplies, the folk athletics teams of the schools put emphasis on personal skills and the variation of the formation, the future of the development of the folk athletics should be systematically changed by holding more research and study that relates to the education of the folk athletics, also the making of the teaching materials, policies and the training of the teachers should take the view of pluralism; besides, how to tap new resources and economize on expense, to find and use the resources from the whole society, this way the promotion of the folk athletics could be done fairly.
