Environmental cleanliness of medical equipment is an important key to preventing infections related to medical care. The main purpose of this project is to improve the quality of medical equipment cleaning and disinfection. The high-contact surface qualification rate of medical instruments in the detection unit of the sensory management team was only 28%. The analysis reasons were that the nursing staff lacked the awareness of the cleaning and disinfection of medical instruments, the lack of standardized procedures for the cleaning and disinfection of medical instruments, and the lack of clear working rules and methods for cleaning and disinfecting medical instruments. During the project period, the standard operation specifications for medical equipment cleaning and disinfection were formulated, innovative teaching was used to hold on-the-job education, and measures to continuously audit and implement the correctness of medical equipment cleaning and disinfection. As a result, the high-contact surface pass rate of medical equipment increased to 94%. It is hoped that this project will promote experience, enhance nurses' awareness of the cleaning and disinfection of medical equipment in preventing infection, and provide reference for the implementation of infection control in the future to create a safe medical environment.
