Typically, cancer patients suffer from nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy. Although physicians routinely prescribe antiemetics to prevent nausea and vomiting before chemotherapy, some patients experience them repeatedly. An evidence-based PICO was made in this study to investigate if there are other options to reduce nausea and vomiting for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. After literature reviewing, one meta-analysis research and one randomized controlled trial were selected for critical appraisal. The results of the literature review indicated that music therapy intervention is beneficial in reducing nausea and emesis for patients undergoing chemotherapy. It is suggested that the information of music intervention can be included in the health education leaflets to relieve nausea and vomiting during for those who undergoing chemotherapy.
