Combining sports events and information technology is an international trend. In order to support the baseball strategy information queries in real-time, and to build up a baseball player position dynamic simulation tool for training, we design a baseball motion objects trajectory recording and querying system based on a multimedia database for baseball strategies. This system records most of the information on the field, including the pitch count, out(s), and situation of each base, and the motion trajectories of the baseball and players. This system can search the strategy database via the ”Query by Example” matching paradigm from a graphic user interface, based on the theory of similarity measurement, and provide an animation motion trajectory to replay the results of the previous queries. This system can search the database and evaluate the probability of using a certain strategy by a specific coach under certain situations. It can serve as the basis for counter-strategy decision making. It can also be used to improve the daily training. By our experimental results, we can retrieve the strategies with the same or similar objects' motion trajectories effectively and efficiently in an acceptable precision constraint.
