棒球運動是結合「投、打、跑、守」等四大技術的全面性運動項目，其中球棒可謂最主要的攻擊武器，如何充分明瞭球棒的基本特性以及慎選適合的球棒，是教練和選手應關注的議題。可惜一般教練和選手在選擇球棒時，往往僅考慮價格、外觀與品牌，缺少科學化證據做爲依據；因此，本文主要目的在於介紹球棒的基本特性以及提供簡易挑選球棒的方法。本文建議選擇球棒時應考量球棒長度、質量、質心位置、甜區位置、球棒材質等因素，並應對球棒的木理傾斜角和年輪數進行外觀辨視；期望教練和選手能充分地了解球棒的表現特性，並善加利用簡單的科學評量方法，選擇出適合的球棒以有效增進選手打擊表現。

Baseball is contain of pitching, batting, baserunning, and fielding, so that it so-called all around sports. Bat is the most important tool of offence. It was considered by coaches and players that how to understand basic characteristics of bat and how to choose an appropriate bat. However, price, shape and brand are often considered when players choose a bat. Therefore, this article is focus on introducing basic characteristics of a bat and providing some methods of choosing bat. The results suggested that length, mass, center of gravity, moment of inertial, location of sweet spot, material, and shape should be considered deeply when players would like to choose an appropriate bat. Those factors could be identified by simple evaluate method. Furthermore, coaches and players need to understand the knowledge of baseball bat that batting performance could increase by using appropriate bat.
