Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of 2 weeks stair training on maximal heart rates (HR(subscript max)), lactate (La(subscript max)) and every 50m speed performance of 200 meter in high school male track players. Method: Eight senior high school male athletes (age: 17.00±0.78 yrs, high: 171.60±7.23 cm, weight: 69.90±10.86 kg, experience: 3.50±2.06 yrs) performed the combination with interval stair training (IST) and endurance training (ET) in 2 weeks. IST consisted of 30m maximal sprint efforts interspersed by 3 min of recovery (3d/wk), and ET performed at 20 min continuous running (70% HR(subscript max), 2 d/wk). Assessments for the every 50 m prior speed, HR(subscript max), and La(subscript max) were tested at pre-and post-test. All data obtained during the period were analyzed with paired t-test by SPSS 12.0. All significant levels were set at p<.05. Results: There was a significant decrease in the velocity of 0.41 m/s (p<.05) in the initial phase (0-50m). Both 50-100 m and 100-150 m were significant increased 0.51 m/s (p<.05) and 0.32 m/s (p<.05). But no significant differences in the last phase (150-200 m). Conclusion: The finding are as following: (1) 2 weeks IST can improve the velocity of 50-150m with in 200m sprint. (2) IST was increased the performance at the same intensity. |
