患者為一63歲男性，無特殊已知過去病史，3個月前因頭部撞擊而造成左顳葉區域挫傷性腦水腫、右額顳部硬腦膜下血腫、雙側腦半球瀰漫性蜘蛛膜下腔出血併腦室內出血，腦中線向左偏移。經開顱減壓與血塊移除手術後，轉至本院復健。因認知功能障礙伴有雙側偏癱，已臥床3個多月，依靠鼻胃管進食，痰多色黃。經過中藥協同治療後，患者的症狀逐漸改善，痰液明顯轉少且顏色轉淡。

This 63-year-old male without past medical history suffered from contusion brain edema over the left temporal regions, acute subdural hematoma (SDH) over right frontotemporal regions, diffuse subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in the bilateral cerebral hemispheres and intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) and diffuse brain swelling with midline shifting to left side after head injury about 3 months ago. After right craniectomy with evacuation of hematoma and ward care, he was transferred to our hospital for inpatient rehabilitation. He received nasogastric tube feeding due to impaired cognition and bilateral hemiplegia, while profuse amount of yellow sputum was noted during three months of hospitalization. After combined traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment, his symptom gradually improved with less and clear sputum.
