本文之作乃意識到荀子做為傳經之儒對傳統禮學的影響,故從最具禮學色彩的〈禮論〉篇文分析,以為討論荀子哲學禮學的依據。〈禮論〉的問題意識在於觀察到人欲所造成的爭亂,故提出「禮」以為解決之道。〈禮論〉所謂「禮」有四義,一、禮義以分,明分以禮,禮(義)建立倫理價值。二、禮有三本,天地、先祖、君師乃是禮之存在之所由,禮之有本亦指出人文禮義的客觀與普遍。三、禮有文理飾情的作用,其相應面即是客觀規範的建立。四、以喪禮顯情文,哀戚的自然情感轉化為禮意表現,乃在倫理表現的終始如一與事亡如事存。本文據前述〈禮論〉的義涵,進而探討「禮論」所蘊含的「禮義之道」。首先,禮義之道乃是「禮義之分」,荀學所謂「分」有二義,一是指分辨,即知性活動;二是結合「義」,表示「分義」,即道德倫理。再者,「禮」的理論所蘊含的「禮義」義,其乃條理聖王之道而來,故禮義之道亦可視為實踐性道德原則的「禮義之統」。依〈禮論〉思想與禮義之道,本文歸納荀子哲學禮學的主要內涵在禮義與禮儀的理則次序、客觀性與道德性的結合、人性自然情感可以在禮的規範與節制下如理地表現、禮節作用的價值性在客體,以及禮的實踐性有修身、人格、教育、禮治等面向。本文結論認為荀子的禮學內涵豐富,應從禮的儀式義、規範義與哲學意義來釐清。 |
英文摘要 |
My thesis study Xun-zi's philosophy of rites, who be the master of Confucian classics studies according to the 'Ritual Doctrine'(〈禮論〉). The question of rites of the 'Ritual Doctrine' is how to solve the conflict of desire, which causing by human nature; and the answer of Xun-zi is rites or Li-yi(禮義). The mean of rites of the 'Ritual Doctrine' has four aspect, recognize morality and knowing obligation by rites first, which about the construction of ethical value. Secondary, the origins of rites is the universe, ancestors and the teacher who govern the people; and the meaning of origins of rites is objective and universal. Third, the functions of rites is making human nature cultured and making moral norm. Fourth, the meaning of funerary rite is representing the cultured emotion, which express the sad feeling and the respect to the dead; and this is the coherence of the living people and the dead. I discuss the thinking of Li-yi to ritual morality further. The ritual morality is to knowing moral and ethical value which called the Fen(分)first. Secondary, the theory of ritual morality is came from ancient Sage who keeping moral imperatives, which called the ritual integrity(禮義之統)for practical principle. According to the thinking of 'Ritual Doctrine' and ritual morality, I induct Xun-zi's philosophy of rites for five points: the ritual morality is the intension of rites, the combination of objectivity and morality, natural emotion could be cultured by rites, the value of ritual functions is objective beings, the rites have concrete practice which about life, personality, education and politics. My thesis concludes that Xun-zi's philosophy of rites including the meaning of rites, moral norm of rites and philosophical meaning of rites. |
