2, 3, 5, 6四甲基吡嗪(2, 3, 5, 6-tetramethylpyrazine; TMP)又稱為川芎嗪，是川芎(Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort)主要化學成分，對心腦血管疾病具有優良的療效。腦血管中風造成的死亡率與致殘率持續居高不下，如能早期積極治療，必可減輕許多後遺症。本文考察藥理學與臨床應用等文獻，期望對早期腦損傷的改善能有一定助益。研究結果認為川芎抽出物TMP可使大腦中動脈阻塞造成嚴重缺血的組織及時得到代償血液，能抑制自由基的產生及連鎖反應的發生，可延緩神經細胞破壞。我們也從研究中發現TMP可以提供神經元保護作用以對抗缺血性腦損傷，至少有部分是透過抑制發炎反應，減少神經元凋亡與預防神經元減少。

2, 3, 5, 6-tetramethylpyrazine also called TMP is the chief chemical composition of Chuanxiong Rhizoma, which possess fit curative effect to heart blood vessel and brain's disease. By reviewing documents and inspecting about pharmacology and clinic application, we expect to have certain benefit in the early stage treatment during brain vessel damage. We have found that the secondary component of Chuan Xiong can make artery obstruct brain's serious lack blood organization timely get generation repayment blood in brain, can restrain bring forth and chain reaction take place of free radical, can delay neuron breakage. We have discovered that TMP can supply neuron protect effect as confront lack blood of brain damage, which can decrease neuron apoptosis and prevent neuron injury.
