心電圖是診斷心律不整或其他冠狀動脈疾病的重要、非侵入性檢查之一，傳統的心電圖僅在醫療機構內執行，對症狀發作低或不固定但疑似有心臟疾病者，無法提供有效的即時確立病情，遠距醫學照護系統因使用科技方式，讓病人和醫療提供人員有了更超越時空限制的即時溝通，減少不必要的醫療資源浪費。現行的電話傳輸遠距心電圖照護系統個案管理模式操作簡單，透過專業醫護人員定時監測與諮詢服務，在實務經驗上提供電子轉換中心溝通媒介的概念，使三類「儲存並轉介式」、「居家式」、「機構式」遠距醫療模式可一併執行，提升無縫連接照護、高品質的醫療服務。

The Electrocardiogram (ECG) is an essential tool to diagnose arrhythmia or other coronary artery diseases. Conventional ECG is conducted in medical facilities, but it may not be helpful to diagnosis suspected cardiovascular disease patients with low frequency or irregular episodes. The telemedicine system, using current technology, allows real-time communication between patients and their health care providers without the limitation of time and space and therefore reduces waste of medical resources. The trans-telephone electrocardiogram care system is easy to operate. Professional health providers conduct regular remote monitoring and provide patients with needed consultations. The concept of ＂Electronic Transfer of Care＂ allows the three types of telemedicine, store-and-forward, home-based and office/hospital based be conducted simultaneously. It provides seamless and high quality medical service.
