"Family resilience" means that a family can adapt to a dilemma and maintain the goals of life during difficult or stressful situations by using family's own internal and external resources, and ongoing interactions with many protective risk factors. This concept helps health care providers understand the family's process of overcoming adversity and may be applied clinically to positively promote the health care outcomes of individuals and families. The purpose of this paper is to use the conceptual analysis steps proposed by Walker and Avant (2011) including 1. Describe the defining characteristics of family resilience; 2. List typical cases, marginal cases, and vice versa; 3. Confirm the front of family resilience factors and consequences; and 4. Analysis of current empirical measurement tools. It is hoped that through this paper, clinical health care providers will be able to apply this concept in clinical practices and researches, promoting the development of health care concepts and measures to help families achieve internal and external dynamic equilibrium under difficult or stressful situations, thereby improving health care outcomes.
