母乳是嬰兒最完整及最自然的食物，是提供嬰兒成長及健康維持上重要的營養來源，嬰兒出生後前六個月應該採純母乳哺育，以確保能自母乳中獲取足夠的營養。母嬰親善醫院是由世界衛生組織及聯合國兒童基金會所推廣的全球運動，目的在創造一個讓母乳哺育成為常規的醫療照顧環境，給予每個新生命最好的開始，先進國家都將母乳哺育推廣列入國家重要的政策；因此，母嬰親善醫院認證政策的推廣有其重要性與必要性。母乳哺育十大政策的目的在於促進及支持產婦母乳哺育，並非強制產婦一定要嚴格遵守每項措施標準，而是希望能營造給產婦有一個舒適、安全且友善的母乳哺育環境，並針對每位產婦在母乳哺育的需求給予適切的協助。母乳哺育的護理指導應包含產婦和家人，產婦的家人若有正確的母乳哺育知識，將有助醫護人員推動母乳哺育各項措施，提升醫護人員在母乳哺育所需的專業能力，是落實母嬰親善醫院各項措施的重要因素。

Breast milk is the most complete and natural food for infants, and it is an important source of nutrition for infant growth and health maintenance. Infants should be exclusively breastfed for the first six months after birth to ensure that they can obtain adequate nutrition from breast milk. Baby-friendly hospital is a global campaign promoted by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. The purpose is to create an environment where breastfeeding becomes a routine medical care environment and give each new life the best start. Advanced countries will be breastfeeding promotion listed in the national important policy, therefore, Baby-friendly hospital accreditation policy has its importance and necessity of promotion. The purpose of the 10 top ten policies of breastfeeding is to promote and support maternal breastfeeding. It is not mandatory for mothers to strictly follow every standard of breastfeeding, but to create a comfortable, safe and friendly environment for breastfeeding, and to provide appropriate assistance to each mother in breastfeeding needs. The nursing instruction of breastfeeding should include the mother and her family. If the mother's family members have the correct knowledge of breastfeeding, it will help the medical staff to promote the breastfeeding measures and improve the professional ability of the medical staff in breastfeeding. It is an important factor to implement the measures of Baby-friendly hospital.
