The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence, involvement, and self-perceived health among participants in yoga. The study focused on yoga participants from the northern, central, and southern regions of Taiwan. The research instruments used in this study included the "Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire," the "Involvement Scale," and the "Self-Perceived Health Questionnaire." A total of 420 questionnaires were distributed, and 415 questionnaires were collected, resulting in a response rate of 98%. After excluding questionnaires with missing or incomplete responses, a total of 401 valid questionnaires were obtained, with an effective response rate of 95%.Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and simple and multiple regression analyses were conducted using the SPSS statistical software. The research findings are as follows:There is a positive relationship between emotional intelligence and self-perceived health among yoga participants. A higher level of emotional intelligence, particularly in terms of optimistic emotion regulation and emotional assessment ability, is associated with better self-perceived health.Higher levels of emotional intelligence are associated with greater involvement among yoga participants. Specifically, better emotional intelligence, particularly in terms of optimistic emotion regulation and social skills, is associated with higher levels of involvement.Regarding the influence of involvement on self-perceived health among yoga participants, the factor coefficients were found to be very small. Therefore, it can be concluded that their impact on the social aspect of self-perceived health is limited.Based on these results, it is encouraged for people of all genders and ages to participate in yoga exercises to enhance emotional intelligence, involvement, and self-perceived health. It is hoped that further research will discover more diverse sample data that can serve as references for future studies.
