Tangdizhihua and Jixi fu jixi, in Wuhuanzi's "The Royal Club in the Hell" series are about the afterlives of all emperors in the past dynasties. This paper argues that, by adopting a lot of allusions and quotations from the historical records to shape the characters, and creating her irony parodies of these historical allusions, Wuhuanzi shows her contemporary interpretation of history. And this parody and irony style is taken as one of the main characteristics and narrative techniques of postmodernist literature. This paper also explores how the authority of formal history is shaken by the dialogues between Wuhuanzi's contemporary interpretations and the official historical records woven in her works.
