The purpose of the research attempted to investigate the economic, physical and social impacts of Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium on the community. The research utilized mixed methods including qualitative and quantitative data collection. In the qualitative stage, field observations, focus groups, and interviews were used to examine general attitudes toward the stadium. Next, based on the results of the qualitative data analysis, a questionnaire was created. One hundred and seventeen participants were recruited by convenience sampling to answer the questionnaire. The results showed that for economic impacts, the baseball games held in the stadium would bring the crowd to increase the income of local businesses. However, respondents mentioned that the usage of the stadium was low and suggested that the district around the stadium should be further developed. For the environmental impacts, the traffic congestion was serious when there were games held in the stadium. Noise and garbage, however, were not a big problem. For the social and cultural impacts, the stadium located in an easily accessible location provided residents in the middle of Taiwan an opportunity to watch international baseball competitions. In addition, because the stadium has a quite eye-catching appearance, it has become a new landmark in Taichung. Moreover, the results of questionnaire data analysis showed that 60% of respondents replied that the stadium was not fully utilized. A general level of satisfaction for the experience of attending games held in the stadium was average. Thirty-nine percent respondents thought that the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium belongs to the people in Taiwan. As for other possible uses of the stadium, more than half of the participants (77 people, 66%) agreed that the stadium might be open to University baseball teams to practice. For a question about whether there was a better substitute for the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, 50 people (43%) still believed that building a baseball stadium was the best choice.
