Cycling is a leisure activity enjoyed by many people. Cycling club members use their spare time to participate in club activities with a serious and attentive attitude and exhibit long-term commitment. Cycling clubs not only provide their members with opportunities to socialize among other people with same interests but also collectively improve their riding skills, experience, and related knowledge. The purpose of this study was to establish a model for the relationship among serious leisure, leisure benefits, and well-being among cyclists. Members of cycling clubs in Tainan City were recruited through purposive sampling, and a total of 255 valid questionnaires were returned. Responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. The results revealed that serious leisure had significant and positive effects on well-being and leisure benefits. Leisure benefits had a significant and positive effect on well-being and a mediating effect on the relationship between serious leisure and well-being. Confirmatory factor analysis of structural equation modeling results revealed that the proposed model is applicable to this study. For the members of cycling clubs in Tainan City, serious leisure, leisure benefits, and well-being exhibited clear causal relationships. In addition, leisure benefits mediated the relationship between serious leisure and well-being. That is, cyclists engaged in serious leisure obtained well-being through leisure benefits. Cycling clubs are recommended to consider the causes and effects of serious leisure reported in this model when promoting cycling in order to increase cyclists' leisure benefits and improve their well-being.
