The purpose of this is to further the understanding of the coaches' leadership style perceived by players and satisfaction of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games Chinese Taipei delegation. The population of this study is the players that have achieved the participation of 2004 Olympics in Athens. This study distributed 88 questionnaires, and 65 questionnaires were valid. Means, standard deviation, t-test and one-way ANOVA were applied to data-analysis. The results of this study are:
1. There are 24 male coaches and 4 female coaches on the Chinese Taipei Delegation. The demographics which are inclusive of age, gender, educational level, working year, professional fields and whether to enter national teams or not made significant differences on the leadership and players' satisfaction. 2. Athletes reported higher on Perceived athletic coach's leadership style and players' satisfaction of Male coaches and coaches who never entered national teams than female coaches and the coaches who once entered national teams. 3. The coaches with the special field get higher scores on coaches' leadership style perceived by players and coaches with no special fields get higher scores on players' satisfaction. The coaches whose ages are under 50 get higher scores on coaches' leadership style and players' satisfaction. 4. Of all aspects of the leadership styles. motivation gets the highest scores and Charismatic leadership gets the lowest scores. The sequences of the leadership styles are motivation, intellectual inspiration, individual concern, macro-perspective and charismatic leadership.
