Opinions about the content of the "true Governor" differ all the time. As stated in "On the Equality of Things as Well as Its Meaning," Zhuangzi, "It can be acted upon and be already believed in (ke xing yi xin) while its form one cannot see: it has real existence but possesses no form," this essay is to start with clarifying the problem of this passage and further discuss the meaning of the "true Governor" mentioned in Zhuangzi. Firstly, this essay is to demonstrate the importance and evidence of the problem concerning "it can be acted upon and be already believed in,"showing that the original text should be "already/已" rather than "self/ 己". Secondly, this essay is to discuss the way of "acting": "it has real existence but possesses no form"; "existence" can be explicated as "reality", while "form" can be understood as "emptiness load". Thirdly, this essay is to propose the object of "believing": the attributes of the "true Governor" include "the dualism of something and nothingness" as well as "the autonomy of acting and believing". Finally, this essay is to present the content of "believing": "the dualism of something and nothingness" and "the autonomy of acting and believing" bear witness to the metaphysical reality of the true Governor which "can be acted upon and be already believed in'.
