Since 1993, Taiwan has started entering formally into the ageing society, and social activities are considered a very important part of elderly to maintain a healthy life. With social cultural implications, the jewelry and ornament are personal accessories of the Modern lifestyle. The varieties of the jewelry and Ornament are attributable to development which breakthrough the restrictions of time and place in living, work entertainment, learning and transaction activities and highlight a living style. Regardless of practical operation or empathy more humanized concepts in the future will be the indispensable elements for product design. This research hopes to explore the meaning of jewelry and ornament in the network of elderly social intercourse culture, the relationship between jewelry and ornament and elderly, and the meaning of jewelry and ornament in elderly social interactions and the social activities derived from the jewelry and ornament, thereby providing a theoretical framework for product positioning and social intercourse network during the design and planning stage of jewelry and ornament.The result of this study comprises of: the design strategy of jewelry and ornament will emphasize on elderly's social intercourse and apply elderly's requirement for special characteristics on product design to precisely reflect the varied differences in elderly social intercourse culture.
