近幾年來全球空難頻傳－馬航MH17班機遭誤擊、阿爾及利亞航空客機墜毀、復興航空澎湖空難。新北市八仙樂園粉塵爆炸事件，天災人禍不斷，造成死傷嚴重。在面臨人生無常、甚至是喪親創傷的打擊後，人們往往會尋求信仰或靈性來獲得療癒。當治療師在面對遭受失落或創傷的個案時，如何透過靈性治療來協助其因應人生的挫折，以渡過生命困境乃撰文之初衷。本文首先闡述靈性的興衰發展，從過去的避諱漠視到現今心理治療的認同。時代的推衍，彰顯出靈性治療重要性的轉變。再者，論述靈性治療的內在意涵及其實施歷程，涵括靈性評估之實務面向的介紹，最終並對靈性治療的介入策略舉隅說明之。企盼藉本文對靈性治療的緣起、主張與基本概念，甚至是實際應用之概貌能有所梳理。
