網路使用為發展中的青少年帶來便利，也對其生活帶來變化，間接地挑戰父母對於青少年網路使用之期望及教養原則。本文回顧相關文獻，發現青少年網路使用因個人差異，可能為其學習、人際互動及行為表現帶來的正向或負向影響，而家庭環境與親職教養等因素與青少年網路使用、網路成癮及危險網路活動的確有關連，因此，家庭環境與氣氛的營造、親職教養原則及策略的建構，有助於青少年網路使用的受益情形。但現今青少年網路使用情況對親職教養形成挑戰，整理網路世代的父母的網路使用教養角色、態度與策略之現況，發現父母常扮演物質性角色多於象徵性角色，且常用的子女網路使用教養策略未必是有用的策略。最後，根據上述發現，提出以家庭互動關係為基礎、強化父母及青少年子女身心健康及自我控制能力、平衡物質與象徵的親職角色、關愛與督導之必要性及形成自家適用之親職教養等建議，作為網路世代父母及親職教育工作者之參考。
