鑒於國內有關原住民族生涯發展的研究文獻不足,本研究旨在讓原住民族敘說出自身的生涯經驗,以探討影響其生涯發展的各種不同於主流社會的因素。本研究以三位成長於部落的原住民教師為研究參與者,分別進行三至四次,每次約兩小時的深度訪談。本研究採取生命主題的理論作為訪談架構,並且藉由「整體—部分—整體」的詮釋學循環分析質性訪談資料,找出三人的生涯發展中共有的生命主題,然後再請研究參與者檢核分析結果並作必要的修正。研究結果發現,追求族群文化認同是影響台灣原住民族生涯發展的一項重要因素;族群文化認同發展包含四個共同主題,即承受污名而生自卑心、對抗污名而建立自信、探索洗禮後確立認同、深化認同後奉獻族群;某些部落傳統價值觀影響原住民族的生涯選擇。針對上述研究結果,本研究作出討論並且提出對於未來研究的建議。
