近年來在台灣，農業部門將休閒農業視為是一個最重要的農業政策，它的源起是因為要讓傳統農業更具競爭力和社會大眾對休閒遊憩的需求。農業旅遊的發展已將農業的空間環境轉化為休閒的場域，也由於文化慶典及體驗活動的融入而提昇了農業的附加值。台灣的休閒農業發展經驗，建議有興趣發展休閒農業的國家，要聚焦在農業環境的永續發展，發展過程中要建立政府、遊客及農民的伙伴關係。

The Council of Agriculture (COA) in Taiwan has prioritized leisure agriculture as one of its most important policy initiatives. This initiative has occurred as a result of the decline in competitiveness of traditional Taiwanese agriculture and the increasing public demand for leisure and recreation. Agricultural tourism is being developed as agricultural spaces are being transformed into leisure places, with agriculture increasingly being valued as a cultural celebration experience. Learning from the Taiwanese experience, it is suggested that other countries interested in developing leisure agriculture need to focus on the sustainability of a pleasing agricultural environment through the development of partnerships between government, tourism specialists, and farmers.
