Purpose: In the course of historical development, emerging infectious diseases have never ceased to threaten human beings. This study adopts the viewpoint of protection motivation theory (PMT) and puts forward research hypotheses in order to explore the influences of COVID-19 on personal travel behavior intentions. Design/methodology/approach: The general public is used as the subject to collect data in 2020, 2021, and 2022 through sequential questionnaires, and use structural equation model (SEM) to execute the statistical analyses of relevant data, to examine the factors affecting people's travel arrangements under the influences of the novel coronavirus pneumonia. Findings: The research results show that during the pandemic, people's travel intentions are indeed affected by many factors, and "trust" has a certain moderating effect. Practical implications: In addition, with the ups and downs of the pandemic, various influencing factors also show significant differences and changes, which is indeed worthy of the attention of relevant units. Originality/value: This study uses three-year data for analysis, and the results obtained have the significance of dynamic changes, which not only effectively confirms the relevant academic theories, but also provides a good reference for practical responses.
