Purpose: The aim of this research is to integrate the indicators of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the top ten causes of death prevention and control in Taiwan, in order to construct indicators for Taiwan's Health-Promoting School (HPS) program. Findings: The research methodology comprises two phases. In the first phase, the Bereday's comparative research method is employed for analysis and processing to derive preliminary indicators. The second phase utilizes the expert Delphi method with fuzzy statistics for item deletion analysis, resulting in the construction of fifteen indicators for Taiwan's HPS program addressing both immediate and fundamental goals. Practical implications: These indicators and measures can assist Taiwanese schools in simultaneously addressing root causes and immediate health issues within the SDGs framework. Specific implementation details should be tailored to the needs and resources of each school. Originality/value: This research contributes to the establishment of indicators for Taiwan's HPS program based on the SDGs and strategies for preventing and addressing the top ten causes of death in Taiwan.
