近年來因環保意識提升，環保條件也不斷隨著改變，在考量能源成本及環保要求雙重原則上，工業界選擇重油鍋爐改用瓦斯鍋爐是一種很好正確的選擇，尤其近幾年來美國頁岩氣的開發，致天燃氣國際價格趨於平穩低廉，目前瓦斯價格與重油價格不相上下，工業界將原本正在使用以重油為燃燒的鍋爐逐漸改為以瓦斯為燃料的鍋爐，在長期使用一段時間後，經實際評估結果都覺得效果很好。無論在改裝機械設備費用或瓦斯燃料費用支出及環保條件的要求上，及操作人員技術培訓，鍋爐操作環境空間都改善很多，鍋爐本體熱能損失降低，排煙溫度可降至100°C。這對鍋爐能源利用效率上有很大的幫助。
