樊粹庭先生是在二十世紀三十年代民族危機深重、“啟智益民”的戲劇改良觀念逐漸被有識之士認知和踐行的時代背景下走上戲劇改革之路的。他在三十餘年的藝術生涯中,自覺以“重大擔負者”自任,毫不懈怠地下“埋頭工夫”,創作改編了80多部劇本,編排導演了數百部傳統與現代劇碼,逐步形成中西合璧、圓融暢達的戲劇觀和博採眾長、求新求變的編導理念,積累沉澱出比較系統的編劇、導演理論。他因人設戲,因材施教,並確立了以編劇導演為中心、以演員為主體,以觀眾為接受和評判群體的互動機制,引導豫劇固本求新,變革發展,步入現代化的進程,被戲劇界公認為名副其實的“現代豫劇之父”。 |

In the 1930s, under the background of severe national crisis and "inspiring people" Dramatic reform ideas gradually accepted and practiced by knowledgeable people, Mr. Fan embarked on the path of drama reformation.
