曾永義先生是當代戲曲史上非常重要的一個人物。他不僅在戲曲與俗文學等研究方面卓然大家，而且在戲曲編劇方面的造詣同樣耀眼奪目。作為一位學者型編劇：既有學者的嚴謹和高度的民族責任，又有極高的文學藝術修養。先生編劇主要取材于中華歷史文化，最為感興趣的就是歷史傳說和民俗故事。先生把「凡能夠傳達中華民族所具有的共同思想、情感、意識、理念、文化，而其流播空間遍及全國甚至四裔，時間逾千年的民間故事」定義為民間故事，又把他精心研究的九個民間故事中的「牛郎織女、孟姜女、梁祝、白蛇、楊妃」五個故事改編成戲曲搬上舞臺。五個民族故事劇的特點：關目意趣「守大筋節而出新點染」；崑劇、京劇因劇種體制不同，「曲意」爭勝各顯千秋；故事人物神色機趣樂人動人；戲曲語言呈文人曲語的通俗俊麗特點；新語新技術的運用，使新劇出新出奇入時。將「意」「趣」「神」「色」 綰於一體，融於一爐，達到很高的藝術境界。 |

Mr. Zeng Yongyi is a very important figure in the history of Chinese contemporary opera. He is not only outstanding in the study of Chinese opera and Popular Literature, but also brilliant in the writing of Chinese opera. as a scholar-type scriptwriter: Both the academic rigor and a high degree of national responsibility, and a very high level of literary and artistic accomplishment. his screenwriting is mainly based on Chinese history and culture. He is most interested in historical legends and Folk Tales. his Folklore defined as ＂a folklore that can convey the common thoughts, feelings, consciousness, ideas and culture of the Chinese nation, and spread throughout the country and even four generations of Chinese people for more than a thousand years.＂ He also adapted five of his nine folklore stories, ＂The Weaver Girl and the Cowherd, Lady Meng Jiang, Butterfly Lovers, white snake, and Yang Guifei,＂ into a drama for the stage. The characteristics of five national story-plays are as follows: Plot interest in storytelling is ＂keeping the big-tendon festival and creating new points＂; Kun Opera and Beijing opera are different in terms of genre and system, and ＂music＂ and ＂Implication＂ are competing for their merits; The use of new language and new techniques has made the new drama novel and fashionable. Combine ＂meaning＂, ＂interest＂, ＂spirit＂ and ＂color＂ into one, and achieve a very high artistic realm. |
