質性研究是科學研究,且管理學需要質性研究。在科學性的部份本文先以Kuhn、Popper的科學哲學爭議澄清科學的本質,來定位質性研究的科學性,再透過介紹與分析詮釋人類學與延伸個案法說明質性研究如何達到科學的要求。在對管理學的重要性部份,本文拓深質性研究蘊涵的反身性概念,藉此應用到相關管理學議題,以證明質性研究對管理學的重要。透過上述的論證,本研究除了反駁對於質性研究的諸多質疑、拓深反身性的概念外,更增加了質性研究於管理學場域中的正當性。藉此,祈對質性研究社群的發展有所助益。

英文摘要

The scientificity and legitimacy of qualitative research are discussed in this article. After the analysis of the nature of Science, Interpretive Anthropology and Extended Case Method are discussed to show the scientificity of qualitative research. As for legitimacy, reflexivity, which is the nature of Management Sciences, is discussed and applied to three related issues in Management, to show the importance of qualitative research. In all, this article proves the scientificity and legitimacy of qualitative research.
