The purpose of this study was aimed to compare the sports biomechanical parameters when wearing Buffalo new style and commercial traditional flip-flops to walk. Two male and to female college students were recruited as subjects. In experiment, each subject must wear these two kinds of flip-flops to walk five times in its self-selected walking speed. In the process of walking, VICON motion analysis system (including six M2 cameras, sampling rate: 250Hz) and AMTI force plate (when passing force plate, subject must step into using its right foot, sampling rate: 1000Hz) were used to gather data. Results showed: (1) When wearing Buffalo new style flip-flops, human body would have smaller ankle joint motion in landing phase of gait due to Buffalo new style flip-flops had Sharpened design in its toe and heel. (2) By altering the material Composition ratio, Buffalo new style flip-flops performed better on cushion ability than commercial traditional flip-flops which had same EVA material similar to Buffalo new style flip-flops.
