This study explores the conceptions and transformations of leisure styles understandings over the decades. A narrative literature review was conducted for this purpose. The results indicate that leisure styles have evolved from a perception of mere entertainment function to an understanding as fundamental components for human and social development. Leisure styles reflect and influence socio-cultural and economic dynamics, playing an essential role in promoting holistic health. This perspective becomes particularly relevant during global crises, as evidenced during the COVID-19 pandemic. In conclusion, leisure styles are not merely forms of entertainment but rather vital components that shape sociocultural and personal dynamics.
