《湘行散記》是沈從文構築「湘西世界」的一部重要散文集，其內容為其1934年在回鄉途中對於周遭人事、風景而興感創作的作品，當中不僅著墨於人事、自然生態之描寫，還有歷史更迭、物是人非之慨。本文將以人文和自然的觀察角度，綜合探析沈從文在行文間所流露對於過往人事的懷念、美好自然的嚮往，引導出作品中「獨行旅客」的意象、生態文學的書寫，最後結合兩者，爬梳作者在作品中隱含人文與生態之間從「契合」到「融合」平等互動的理想，期能對於沈從文筆下的「湘西」有更深刻之了解和體會。

＂Sketches of Travels in Hunan,＂ which composed by Shen Cong-Wen, is an important collection of essays to build a world of ＂Western Hunan.＂ The essays are mainly describing the surrounding and the landscape on his way home in 1934. It is worth noted that the articles not only focuses on people and natural's depiction, but concerns the history and change of resident in his hometown. In general, this paper aims to combine humanity with natural environment from Shen Cong-Wen's perspective of humanity and natural environment in the past and the imagination in the future. Therefore, the impression of ＂lonely traveler＂ and the writing of ecological literature will be derived from the content. Consequently, I hope to grasp the implied equality interaction between the humanity and ecology from the ＂correspondence＂ to ＂fusion.＂ As a result, we can have profound understanding of the feelings of ＂Western Hunan＂ from Shen Cong-Wen's work.
