The authors report herein a case of an adolescent athlete who suffered an osteochondral fracture (OCF) in the weight-bearing portion of the lateral femoral condyle while playing basketball. Diagnosis of OCF was difficult, and was not reflected in the initial physical examination or on plain radiographs. However, secondary survey by computed tomography (CT) confirmed this rare osteochondral lesion in the weight-bearing portion of the lateral femoral condyle. Rather than performing open reduction and internal fixation, as has been reported previously, arthroscopic fragment excision and debridement were performed, and the patient recovered well without discomfort. Careful physical examination and history-taking with regards to the injury mechanism are necessary to exclude osteochondral lesions.

作者在此報告一名青少年運動員在打籃球時受傷造成股骨外髁負重部分的骨軟骨骨折(OCF)之病例。診斷骨軟骨骨折在臨床上相當困難,通常也難以從最初的理學檢查及X光發現。然而此個案二次檢查中的電腦斷層確認了少見的股骨外髁負重部分的骨軟骨骨折。有別於過去文獻報告過的開放性復位及內固定術,使用關節鏡微創清創及軟骨碎片移除,仍可使此病患恢復正常活動度。因此,仔細的理學檢查及受傷機轉病史詢問來排除骨軟骨骨折在臨床上是極為重要的。
